Accelerated Tech Pathway: New Tech Immigration Program for Alberta, Canada

The Accelerated Tech Pathway is a fast track to permanent residence in Alberta for skilled tech workers who want to move to Canada. Tech immigration is important to Canada's economic recovery and growth, and Alberta wants to attract global talent. The new tech focused immigration policy is in response to Alberta's booming technology which needs more skilled technology workers to keep up with the demand.

According to Alberta's Minister of Jobs, Economy and Innovation Doug Schweitzer, between 2018 and 2020:

  • Alberta now has 3,000 tech companies compared to 1,238 companies
  • the number of companies with 25 or more employees increased from 13% to 25%
