need answers now.

Legal professionals across Canada and the United States regularly turn to Ackah Law when immigration questions arise in their practice — complex files, cross-border matters, or situations where a client's status is suddenly at stake. Expert Access is the best way to access that expertise: a focused, prepared advisory session, with an experienced and knowledgeable immigration lawyer.

A premium advisory session
for legal professionals.

Expert Access is a premium advisory session offered by Ackah Law for lawyers, Registered Immigration Consultants (RCICs), and other licensed legal professionals who need focused, high-level guidance on Canadian and cross-border immigration matters — or on the operational and strategic challenges of running a legal practice.

These are not client consultations. Expert Access is designed specifically for legal professionals whose work intersects with immigration law, and who need experienced perspective to serve their own clients well, navigate a complex file, or strengthen their own practice.

Sessions are led by Evelyn Ackah, Founder and Managing Lawyer of Ackah Law, with over 25 years of Canadian and US immigration experience.

Built for professionals
who want to develop and grow.

Expert Access sessions are for licensed lawyers and legal professionals — not immigration applicants or clients. If your work brings you into contact with immigration questions you need expert guidance to answer, this service is built for you.

§

Canadian immigration lawyers

Provincial immigration programs vary significantly across Canada. Whether you need guidance on an Alberta PNP, a BC Skills Immigration stream, or a complex federal file, Ackah Law has seen it all. Get a seasoned second opinion before advising your client.

Registered Immigration Consultants (RCICs)

Licensed consultants who encounter situations beyond standard precedent — unusual scenarios, strategy questions, or cases that raise inadmissibility concerns — benefit from direct access to 25+ years of immigration expertise.

Criminal defence and family lawyers

Immigration consequences are often overlooked in criminal and family matters — until they aren't. If your client's immigration status is at stake, get the guidance you need before advising them on a plea, a separation agreement, or a sponsorship matter.

Employment and corporate counsel

Work permit strategy, LMIA requirements, intra-company transfers, and the immigration implications of restructuring or hiring across borders — if immigration keeps surfacing in your corporate files, this session is for you.

US attorneys with Canadian immigration questions

Cross-border matters involving TN visas, CUSMA work permits, or business immigration between the US and Canada require someone who genuinely practises on both sides. Evelyn and the Ackah Law team are that resource.

Lawyers building or scaling their practice

Evelyn has led Ackah Law for over 16 years through economic downturns, a global pandemic, and rapid practice growth. If you want a direct, experienced conversation about building a legal business — staffing, technology, systems, or growth strategy — Expert Access covers that too.

Your clients deserve
the right answer,
not your best guess.

"Lawyers reach out to us regularly for guidance they can't easily find anywhere else — on PNPs, on inadmissibility, on what to tell a client whose immigration status is affected by a criminal matter. Expert Access is the formal way to access that expertise, so the conversation is focused, prepared, and useful."— Evelyn Ackah, Founder, Ackah Law

Every year, legal professionals across Canada and the United States contact Ackah Law with questions that arise at the intersection of immigration and their own practice areas. A criminal defence lawyer whose client faces inadmissibility. A family lawyer navigating the immigration dimensions of a separation. An RCIC who has encountered a scenario that sits outside standard process.

These conversations used to happen informally. Expert Access puts a proper framework around them — so Evelyn arrives fully prepared, the session is focused and confidential, and the guidance you receive carries the full weight of over two decades of Canadian and US immigration experience.

  • Get expert, targeted guidance on your exact situation — not a general referral or a standard intake.
  • Before your session, Ackah Law reviews your intake — so the conversation begins at the right level, without background you have to spend time explaining.
  • A single well-focused session can prevent an error in client advice, clarify a complex scenario, or confirm you're on the right track before proceeding.
  • If the matter warrants formal co-counsel or a direct referral to Ackah Business Immigration Law, you will know that clearly — and the relationship to make it happen is already in place.
  • Availability is intentionally limited to three sessions per week. Each session receives Evelyn's full preparation and attention.

Simple to book.
Substantive from the start.

Booking an Expert Access session is straightforward. No preliminary calls, no back-and-forth. Book your session, complete the intake form, and Ackah Law will confirm your appointment and prepare accordingly.

The lawyer other
lawyers call when they
don't know who else to ask.

Evelyn Ackah founded Ackah Law in 2010 with a focus on Canadian and US cross-border immigration. Over more than two decades, she has built one of Western Canada's most recognized immigration practices — advising corporations, executives, entrepreneurs, and families on some of the most complex immigration situations in both countries.

She is also one of the lawyers who has spent years fielding calls from colleagues across practice areas — criminal lawyers with clients facing removal, family lawyers untangling the immigration dimensions of a separation, RCICs working through scenarios that sit outside standard precedent.

Evelyn has spoken at national conferences, been sought out by media for immigration commentary, and navigated 25 years of policy change, regulatory shift, and cross-border complexity.

Expert Access is the structured way to access that experience — without the awkwardness of a "quick favour" and without the overhead of a formal retainer before you even know what you're dealing with. Sessions are kept deliberately limited each week. When you book, she shows up prepared.

Three sessions available
each week.

Expert Access sessions are available to licensed lawyers and legal professionals only. Availability is limited to ensure each session receives focused, prepared attention from Evelyn Ackah.
