ALBERTA IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM
Effective June 14, 2018 the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) was updated to simplify the application process, reduce wait times and provide fair access to applicants. The most significant changes are the creation of the new Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) and an expansion to the occupations and skill levels that can be accepted.
CANADIAN VISITOR VISAS
The rate at which Canada rejects Foreign Nationals applying for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Visitor Visa has increased to more than one-in-four in 2018, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This has a concerning impact for the tourism industry and the economy, as this deters people from wanting to come to Canada as visitors.
SASKATCHEWAN IMMIGRANT NOMINEE PROGRAM
Effective July 16, 2018, International Skilled Workers, who are eligible under the Saskatchewan Express Entry and the Occupations In-Demand sub-categories, will be able to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through an online system to apply to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
