When will the Parents and Grandparents Program reopen to new application

On January 2, 2018 Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (“IRCC”) reopened its Parents and Grandparents Program to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who wish to sponsor their parents or grandparents for Permanent Residence in 2018.

 In Canada Spousal Sponsorship Applicants still eligible for Open Work Permits until January 31, 2019

The Canadian Government has extended the duration of the Open Work Permit Pilot Program to January 31, 2019. This will allow spouses or common-law partners to continue to work in Canada, while waiting for their spousal sponsorship applications to be finalized.
