Laura-Anne Goulding is excited to be joining Ackah Law as an Articling Law Student! An articling student is a student at law who as part of their legal training, assists in all aspects of the work of the legal services team including legal research, providing opinions, drafting letters and memoranda under the supervision of a trained and licensed immigration lawyer.
Laura-Anne graduated from the University of Birmingham (LLB - Honours) in 2018 and from the University of Calgary (BA - World History) in 2016. Laura-Anne is passionate about helping others; she regularly volunteered at various organizations throughout Calgary, such as:
- The Alex Community Centre
- The Women’s Centre of Calgary
- Calgary Legal Guidance
- Calgary Seniors' Resource Society
She also did pro-bono work with the Birmingham Community Law Centre Immigration clinic while studying in law school.
Laura-Anne was involved in many extra-curricular activities. She competed in moot competitions and had lessons in advocacy, public speaking, and took time to represent and plan events for students in the history department and in law school.
When not working or volunteering, Laura-Anne enjoys reading, baking, hiking and playing board games. She is also learning Spanish, French and ASL, with plans to be fluent in those in the future.
